Connecticut Firefighter’s Memorial

We intended to go to the Dr. Seuss Memorial Statue Garden, but sadly the website failed to disclose that it wasn’t free (and today is Sunday, and we try not to cause others to work on Sunday).
In an attempt to salvage the 2+ hour car drive, Becca exited the highway when she saw a sign for the Firefighter’s Memorial. Frustratingly, there weren’t any signs saying where to go once we were off the highway. I got my phone out and discovered it was a good 15 minutes away, but we had nothing else to do, so off we went.
It was a nice memorial, and had some benches and park area. If it weren’t Sunday and if we had gotten there sooner then we may have visited the nearby air museum, or hit up the gift shop at the Connecticut Fire Academy.
